You will require:
Two cups of all-purpose flour – One teaspoon of baking powder, and one fourth cup of white granulated sugar.
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil – 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more for frying)
- Warm water, 0.25 cup plus 2 tablespoons
- Glazed or powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a big bowl. Combining thoroughly after mixing.
- Add the oil and warm water to the dry ingredients and whisk until a soft dough forms and everything is thoroughly combined.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch on a lightly dusted board (you can use a rolling pin for this). Use a biscuit cutter or two different-sized drinking cups to cut out your doughnuts (the larger will be for the outside shape, while the smaller will be for cutting out the middle).
- In a deep pan, heat 2 inches or more of vegetable oil to a high temperature. A few doughnuts at a time, add them to the hot (approximately 375°F) oil, and fry for about 1 minute on each side, or until golden brown. Transfer to a platter covered with paper towels to cool after being removed with a slotted spoon.
- Roll warm doughnuts in either powdered or glaze sugar before coating them with sugar.
- Enjoy your affordable doughnuts! Everyone will definitely smile after seeing these!
